Translation, as many other human skills, is a techné (from the Greek word, τέχνη), both an art and a technique, where cultural and technological aspects converge. Our translation process is based on four pillars: terminology management, translation, proofreading and quality assurance, translation tools and multilingual desktop publishing.

Terminology Management

As we work close with our clients we create reference tools such as multilingual comprehensive glossaries, style guides and quality control tools in order to improve consistency, quality and turnaround time. Extensive terminology and conceptual research together with a team oriented approach shared by our project and quality managers, translators proofreaders and reviewers are the key to quality assurance in our translation projects.

Translation, Proofreading and Quality Assurance

Our team of professional translators are either accredited by ATA or by their local translation association and hold advanced degrees in translation and/or in the specific field of the project involved. Each translation project is assigned to a specialist who is familiar with the culture of the target audience, has the academic and experience background of the subject matter and is a native speaker of the target language. We assign three professional linguists to each document that we translate: translator, proofreader and quality assurance manager.

Translation Tools

Hispawords uses the latest translation software. We combine dedicated software applications such as TRADOS, SDLX, WORDFAST and STAR TRANSIT with desktop publishing applications.

Translation Memory (TM) is a software application used by professional translators and should not be confused with Machine Translation, in which the computer software translates. Translation Memory tools offer vital advantages to the translation process as they:
